			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>And so begins the Flatland Blog, albeit a little late as this saga began in 1996, the first year I could have gone to Burning Man and didn&#8217;t. Instead I had just left a video game company and was struggling with VRML. If I, a veteran programmer of 10 years, couldnt make heads or tails of this format, how would creators in general deal with 3D on the Web? So I went to the park and set about trying to find a simpler metaphor for 3D and discovered building blocks as I doodled on my notepad.</p>
